Konnect-EDA · beta · licensing
Claude designs the board. KiCad stays in charge.
Konnect-EDA is a native KiCad 10 plugin that lets Claude and other AI assistants place parts, wire schematics, lay out and route boards, run ERC, DRC and design review, and export production files — live in KiCad, with KiCad's own undo. Free during the beta. Licensed for business use from 1.0.
- 226tools across 21 on-demand toolsets
- 1 binaryno Python, Node or runtime to install
- Localyour designs stay on your machine
- KiCad 10Windows, macOS, Linux
What it does
- Schematic capture — place symbols, wire by pin name, build hierarchical sheets, start from reference circuits.
- PCB layout — place, move, rotate and route footprints in real time over KiCad's IPC API, with undo.
- Checks before you order — ERC, DRC, connectivity, decoupling, power-rail and DFM audits, BOM health.
- Production files — Gerbers, drill, BOM, pick-and-place, STEP, PDF; JLCPCB-ready packages.
- Parts — search a local 2.5M-part JLCPCB catalog for in-stock components and alternatives.
Built for professional work
- Runs locally. Konnect-EDA edits your files in place. Only what your AI client normally sends leaves your machine.
- Refuses rather than guesses. Atomic schematic writes, KiCad-native board edits, and a clear refusal when an edit can't be made safely.
- Tested against real KiCad. Every release must pass an end-to-end run with real KiCad 10.
